Bobcats Trade
Leading scorer Jason Richardson and forward Jared Dudley were traded to the Phoenix Suns for guard Raja Bell, forward Boris Diaw and rookie point guard Sean Singletary. The Suns will also receive the Bobcats 2010 2nd round draft pick. Bell, 32, was named to the NBA All-Defensive first team in 2007 and the All-Defensive second team last season. Diaw, 26, was averaging 8 points and 4 rebounds in 24 minutes a game for the Suns this season. You all remember Sean Singletary from UVA when he ran circles around NCSU. I believe the Suns win big here acquiring Richardson as SG was a big need for them. The Bobcats lose their leading scorer but Diaw is a good young player who has played well when the Suns have needed him. We will have to wait and see how it works out for the 'Cats but on the surface, this trade does not appear to be what they need.
