Panthers Run Past Bucs
Carolina Panthers' running back DeAngelo Williams rushed for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns on 19 carries leading the Panthers to a 38 - 23 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football. Rookie Jonathan Stewart added 115 yards and 2 touchdowns of his own. Steve Smith caught 9 passes for 117 yards and 1 touchdown. The game was tied at 17 in the 4th quarter until numerous long runs by Williams (Dash) and Stewart (Smash) blew the game open. This is a huge win for the Panthers, now 10-3 and in the division lead over the Bucs who dropped to 9-4. The Panthers have a tough upcoming schedule against the Broncos, Giants, and Saints but wins in each would give them home-field advantage in the playoffs. Hopefully, the Panthers will be able to maintain momentum from this win for the rest of the season. One thing is for sure, if Smash and Dash are able to continue this production, the Panthers will be contenders for rings come February 1, 2009.
